Well by now everyone is aware of the big news about Bing & Google adding Twitter feeds into live search results. But what nobody is talking about is the fact that this could dramatically impact your SEO strategies in the very near future. In fact if as an SEO your are not already actively tweeting and using twitter to help your sites then your are already behind the ball. The fact is Twitter feeds are going to play an integral part of how a website performs on the serps since now these feeds are going to be play big part of the search picture.

So how do we prepare ourselves for Live Twitter search? Well nobody knows the exact answer but if you look at the structure of twitter compared to the structure of Google for example you will see they resemble each other in many ways and the integration will probably go on the following principles.

Twitter rank is much probably like Google rank, If you have a lot of followers it will improve your rank, If you have followers that also have a bunch of followers then they are considered authority followers therefore giving your tweets more rank. Does all of this sound familiar?

There probably will not be a green bar that tells you your rank but the principle is much in the same in my opinion. So here is the low down and game plan.

Get as many quality followers as you can.. Of course the more followers the better since our tweets will be seen by more eyes and RT:s will go up.

Publish quality tweets and do not spam. You want to keep your followers and organically gain new followers. not lose them because of spam.

Publish often to keep your audience ( and possibly Google or Bing) happy.

All of this should sound very familiar to anyone doing SEO work. It is a new game plan with the same old strategies.
