Google Launches Commerce Search – What is it?

 

 

First of all I want to say that my feeling on this is this is yet another way google will have control of what we do online. Of course these are my own thoughts and I could be wrong. Either way I am going to provide information on Google Commerce search and let you decide.

Google Commerce Search promises to do the following.

  • Filter results by category, price, brand or other attributes
  • Provide user-friendly spelling options and synonyms
  • Increase website conversions and sales

  •  

    Now this sounds like a great system to me and it probably is. However I must ask the question what does this mean for those of us who already have commerce sites? Are Google Commerce sites going to slowly push us out of the organic results?  We already see adwords, Shopping links and news links integrated into search forcing our sites lower and lower. What is Google Commerce search going to do I ask?
